Growing up on the beautiful Gower Peninsula, I spent countless days in the garden, mixing “lotions and potions” from wildflowers and herbs, captivated by nature’s healing powers. This childhood passion led me to study Genetics at university, followed by an 11-year career teaching Biology. However, my fascination with the connection between science and natural wellness led me to retrain as a holistic therapist, and Ymlacio Life was born 10 years ago.
The word “Ymlacio” (pronounced um-lak-yo) is Welsh for “relaxing” or “to relax,” reflecting my approach to holistic therapies—helping people find balance, ease tension, and reconnect with their well-being.
Today, I offer a range of therapies and learning experiences, blending scientific knowledge with the restorative power of aromatherapy:
Alongside my practice, I run aromatherapy workshops and courses, sharing my knowledge and passion for essential oils and natural wellness. I am also working towards developing an aromatherapy garden—a peaceful sanctuary where clients can immerse themselves in nature, experience the healing power of plants, and learn the art of creating their own wellness products.
I live in the heart of Gower with my two teenage children, two cats, and two dogs. I spend as much time as possible walking along the breathtaking coastline and beaches, finding inspiration in the beauty of the landscape. My love for nature extends into my hobbies, which include willow weaving and natural fabric dyeing, both of which connect me to the land and traditional crafts.
I am fully insured and a member of the STA (Sports Therapy Association) and IFPA (International Federation of Professional Aromatherapists). Whether you’re seeking relaxation, pain relief, or a deeper connection to natural healing, Ymlacio Life is here to support your journey.
“If I am not blending essential oils, I am smelling flowers in the garden. Proud owner of 4 Fur Babies (2 Hungarian Vizslas and 2 Cats) I was a Science Teacher before becoming an aromatherapist”.
